Kate started at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) in civil engineering, drawn by her love of math, science, and solving problems. But inspired by her dad, a Landscape Architect from UIUC and her biggest fan, she pivoted to landscape architecture and never looked back. In horticulture classes, she discovered her knack for combining technical precision with design and a love of nature. Now, she’s the details guru at the Austin office (accompanied by Gus). Kate has become the firm’s go-to expert on Lumion 3D rendering and has led the effort to set office-wide standards for the program. A dedicated landscape architect working toward licensure, Kate balances her analytical side with a love for learning. Off the clock, you’ll find her taking in Austin's live music and soaking up nonfiction documentaries.
