Specialty Garden | Austin, TX

The Judy Waxman Meditation Garden is located within the Dell Jewish Community Campus. The Waxman family aimed to honor their mother’s legacy of philanthropy and fundraising by creating a meditation garden that embraced her love of emotional, spiritual, and physical wellness. Visitors are able to experience a space that pulls together elements of a manicured arboretum, the wildness and beauty of the Texas Hill Country, and the giving and selfless soul of Judy Waxman. The hope is that guests of the garden use its varied and flexible spaces to quietly reflect, meditate and look inward, worship and gather as small or larger groups, learn and grow, and celebrate life. The project required carefully navigating a Site Plan. Revision process, multiple stakeholders, and many practical challenges. However, close coordination with the Waxman Family, Shalom Austin Leadership, and the General Contractor have helped create a project our team is very proud to be a part of.
