Sports Complex | Greenwood, IN

Freedom Park is approximately 70 acres in size and contains Freedom Springs Aquatics Park, a sledding hill, tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, a fishing pond, several sport fields, a dog park, multi-use trails and more. In 2023 the City of Greenwood approached Hitchcock Design Group to design a pickleball complex of 16 individual courts as the newest addition to this destination park. This project, the County’s largest pickleball complex when built, included the expansion of an existing parking lot, rerouting and connecting park trails, a central plaza with shade structures adjacent each court, a drinking fountain, vendor set up areas, and court lighting. A raingarden was incorporated into the surrounding landscape to help treat stormwater and minimize the need for additional infrastructure.
