Integrative medicine is the thoughtful, evidence-based combination of traditional medicine with holistic medicine to help you on your journey to health and wellness. The integrative medicine team at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital uses a wide range of therapies that aim to treat the whole person in mind, body, and spirit. One of these therapies is the promotion and use of outdoor gardens. Hitchcock Design Group worked closely with this team and donor to create an outdoor garden that supports these unique programs and therapies. The space is adjacent to the new integrated medicine building expansion and includes an outdoor multipurpose yoga lawn, sunny or shaded seating options, a small stone water feature, a large lit water wall for relaxation, and private seating areas for meditation. The area was significantly landscaped with evergreens to provide privacy for this special garden.
