Retirement Community Landscape Master Plan | Overland Park, Kansas

The landscape master plan for this retirement community establishes a blueprint for the development of two residential neighborhoods consisting of 1,100-independent living units, assisted living with accessory-skilled nursing and an extended care center with short-term rehabilitation. Predominant materials used within the landscape are native plant materials, regional stone and rough sawn timbers which give the campus a flavor and character consistent with the area. Utilizing the “native” theme, the plan creates unique landscape opportunities for each of its neighborhoods which provides variety and interest for the community as a whole. Public areas include the Welcome Garden, Summer Garden, Serenity Garden, Strolling Garden and Reading Garden. The landscape affords residents with attractive views and a sense of place while in the outdoors as well as from the comfort of their residences and community spaces.
